The Year of Nobody

 

I have to admit, every time I write here is mainly because I forgot to do it and somehow something reminds me I have a blog. It is almost 2026 and that I know of, I must be one of the few people who still have a blog -- at least nobody I personally know has one -- Writing these lines from my Manhattan office on a Friday afternoon.

Besides the Metal Souls series, this year has not been the best one for me art-wise. I really should start dedicating more time. Unfortunately I also didn't do any art shows given the effort they take every time, not barely break even (if lucky) with the costs. Let's hope the coming year is better.

Otherwise, I did travel a lot again this year (which seems to be a constant fortunately) and also worked quite a lot while not travelling. I have been thinking about buying a Samsung Galaxy tablet as an incentive to draw more while not on my desk. However, I'm on my desk most of the time so not sure how much of a difference it will make haha. 

I have been thinking about selling art online through Bitcoin-only purchases as an experiment. I am not sure however how many systems exist today for an easy shop setup that's Bitcoin focused. Maybe I should work on making one. I also still want to make a boardgame one day, since it's also another one of my good hobbies.

Metal Souls Series

 

I've been away for quite some time, but here I'm back to my digital relaxation spot. There haven't been many updates regarding my art lately and especially since my last blog entry. I don't feel excited about the art shows I did last year anymore, but that hasn't stopped me from drawing on a weekly basis. While looking at my past work, I realized I had a lot of fun working on the Fruits & Veggies series back in 2023/2024. I have then decided to create a new robot-inspired series called Metal Souls.

I'm not sure how many entries this series will have, but I don't think it'll be more than eight. I originally wanted to do a four artworks series but I think eight will do it. Expect a new robot every week on my site! The Metal Souls section is already live here: https://okcerk.com/metal-souls
